Growing in the fields or Youth Exchange in Portugal Rio Maior- Chãos

Youth Exchange in Portugal Rio Maior- Chãos.

From September 2 to September 11, 2015 young people from Portugal, Italy and Latvia took part in the Erasmus+ youth exchange  “Growing in the fields. What else?”. The location of project was Rancho Folclorico de Chãos in the small potuguese village Chãos on the top of mountains near Lisbon. The view around us was amazing especially in nights when we saw all those many little lights from other villages above us . As we all know, the weather in Portugal in September is brilliant like in summer, but Chãos we can named “village of wind”, because it was everyday windy.

Workshops, energizers, ice-braking games, discussions  and other activities completely filled our days in project. We also did some crazy activities like peddy paper activity, climbing in the mountains and visitig stalactite caves. In our little trip day we visited the most beautiful town of Portugal named Obidos and ofcourse the Atlantic ocean in one of the Peniche beaches. Took some picures and selfies in the most western point of Europe. Evening programms were impressive too- Culture nights, World cafe evening, learning Ballroom Dances ,dancing Portugese tradicional dances, Onion festival, and our final show in Vila de Gançaria.

For the show we put 3 traditional stories together and made one new. Our new story was about how to find a happiness. Then we split in  the groups and create our theather from actors and their outfits and details to dances and music. You can see our show here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fUFP-bKppCM

In those 10 days we had known fantastic new people and their culture, tasted traditional food and tried some language, got new ideas and expierence about theme “Growing in the fields”, enjoyed our time in Portugal, improved a lot of our personal skills and had memories that we all will never forget. We noticed that we were very cohesive participant group full of creative, kind, friendly and positive personalities. We would like to say big thanks to Raquel, this project organizer, for this amazing project and programm and everything she did for us. Greetings to all our new friends in Italy and Portugal! Beijos!
